Camp SARI, Arva

by admin on July 8, 2010

The Program

The sessions are one week in length, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and are structured around equestrian and fun farm activities. Campers will have a horse/pony assigned to them for the week and will have an opportunity to help care for their horse during the session, including bathing, brushing and feeding.

Riding

CAMP SARI instructors are specially trained by a certified Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association (CanTRA) Instructor, thereby maintaining the standards established by Can-TRA.

Lessons are one hour in length and focus on English riding skills, fun and mounted games. For our special needs students, the lessons will include the therapeutic benefits of riding.

Some of these benefits included improved balance, muscle strength, coordination, mobility, normalization of muscle tone, self esteem, confidence, social skills, and learning.
