FAMILY CAMPS

New for 2010 camp season is the introduction of a one night family camp. That’s right, bring your family and enjoy some “horsing around” fun on the Ranch! Provide your own tent or camp out in one of our cabins which are available on a first registration basis.

Enjoy some trail riding, swimming, a hayride, some outdoor fun and games, a campfire and / or movie in the barn. Meals are included: barbecue dinner of hotdogs and hamburgers on the Saturday night and a pancake breakfast on the Sunday morning.

The family camp will run on Saturday June 26 @ 2pm until Sunday June 27 @ 11am. The cost per person will be $70 (+tax), this will include a 1 hour trail ride (or hand-led pony ride for those under the age of 6) or with 2 trail rides add $25/person. To reserve your family vacation on the ranch, please complete the family camp 2010 registration form and send it along with a deposit of $75 to the Horseshoe J Dude Ranch.

UPDATE: Due to the tremendous success of the recent family camp, 2 new family camp weekends have been added for the fall:

September 18 – 19 and October 9 – 10.

SUMMER CAMPS

The ranch offers 6 different week long camp experiences for girls and boys ages 5 – 19 years. We also offer “mini camps” for those not sure about spending a whole week. These 2 night camps are great introduction camps. .

For information on these camps, get the latest newsletter / 2010 week camp registration form . If you need Adobe Reader, click here.

Our “dudes” are given a choice to sleep in a cabin or get the full camp experience and sleep in one of the Conestoga covered wagons.

The camps are limited to a maximum of 25 “dudes” per session thereby allowing for maximum personal attention. Each “dude” is assigned their own horse for their stay on the ranch. Our camp program revolves around the horses. The “dudes” learn basic horsemanship, grooming, saddling, and caring for their horse. Along with the many hours spent on the beautiful trails the “dudes” participate in a complete camp program of swimming, hayrides, campfires, skit night, movies in the barn, barn parties, outdoor games, cook-outs, and much more.

The camping experience is sure to create many fond memories that will last a lifetime.
