Saddle club championship rules as follows;

1.each club can send only one rider per class.
2.the horse/rider combo must be the same all year.  No substitutions of horse to rider or rider to horse
3.Midwest rules apply/ judge’s decision is final
a.Nrha rules apply to reining class
b.Rusty gaits bylaws apply (jr’s must wear helmets)
4.entry fee of $5.00 per class/per combo, paid by competitor day of show

New OHTA Year End Breed Award!!!! Standardbred Award!!!

It is probably not common knowledge, but there have been many Standardbreds who have competed successfully in dressage, eventing and show jumping- some at the upper levels of these disciplines (even at the Olympics!).

As part of a current effort to promote the versatility, athleticism and outstanding temperament of this breed and it’s suitability for many non-racing activities, including horse trials, some friends of the Standardbred will be offering a year-end High Point Standardbred Award in each OHTA level from Entry to Intermediate for 2009.

As is the case for other OHTA breed awards, it is necessary to provide some proof of registration- tattoo number, registration number or freeze brand number which will be verified. The award will be given to the owner of the horse. If! the regular rider of the horse is not the owner, there will also be a small prize for the rider. You must advise the OHTA via the website of the eligibility of your Standardbred before the last event of the season. Points will be earned by placing in and/or completing OHTA events.
