John MacPherson, FEI Competitor, Trainer, Level III Dressage Coach & M Level Judge will join the line up of top clinicians at Sprucehaven Farm.

John is a multi-year “listed” rider who has represented Canada internationally for more than 25 years, and has twice won the Bronze Medal at the CDI-W Dressage at Devon. He is one of an elite number of certified Level III Dressage Coaches in Canada and John’s students range from grassroots riders to Grand Prix competitors.

The clinic can accommodate ten riders, each of whom will receive personal attention from John during an individual 45-minute session. The ride fee is $140 (HST included) Lunch/refreshments included.
Ride times start at 9:00 am both Saturday and Sunday.

Spectators – “auditors” – may attend for a fee of $20. Food services will be available on site.

RULES AND CONDITIONS

1. Trailer parking will be posted.
2. Casual, neat attire, boots with heels and helmets must be worn in all classes.
3. Correctly fitting hard hat must be worn by all riders, whether competing or not, at all times whilst mounted at Sprucehaven Farm.
4. No stallions except by permission.
5. The organizers will not be held responsible for any accident, loss or injury to any person or their property however this may be caused.
6. OEF membership is required to compete in the Winter Dressage Schooling Series Sows
7. Permitted Bits – you may be use a single or double jointed snaffle (French link) bit for all tests. No Dr. Bristol, twisted (wire or slow twist) mouthpieces are allowed.
8. The judges’ and organisers’ decision is final.
9. The organisers reserve the right to alter the schedule at any time.
10. The organizers reserve the right to amalgamate or cancel classes with insufficient entries or inclement weather.
11. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to any class for whatever reason they deem necessary.
12. No Dogs allowed on premises
13. Please keep horses in designated areas, Sprucehaven Farm will make every attempt to ensure that the parking areas are plowed and that trailers can get out easily. Please obey all parking signs and do not park where it is not indicated.
14. Spectators are welcome but please keep children under close supervision.

ENTRIES

Telephone will not be accepted. Email entries will be accepted but will not be added to the final show list until payment is made in full. Entry forms are available on the website at www.sprucehaven.com

1. Entries close 5pm on the Friday one week before the competition, after which late entries, if space is available, are $5.00 extra per Class.
2. We cannot guarantee a place in the competition before the close of entry, but there will be a waiting list. A stamped addressed envelope should be included so that your entry can be returned if you indicate that you do not wish to be added to the Waiting List if Classes are full or if weather conditions force us to cancel the show. Entries will be taken on a first-come-first-served basis.
3. Classes will run in our Indoor Arena. We will run all classes in a 20 X 40 m ring. Since there is only one indoor arena for the day, we will allow a 10 min. warm up after every 6 horses and up to a 2 min warm up before the bell prior to the start of your class (or unless you indicate to the judge you are ready to begin prior to the 2 min warm up)
4. Change of horse or rider must be notified to the secretary at least 20 minutes before the start of the class or the entry will become void. Change of both horse and rider is not allowed.
5. Those who withdraw in writing before the closing date will have their entry fee, less an administration fee of $5 per Class refunded. Entry fees in any other circumstances will not be refunded unless a class is cancelled due to insufficient entries or inclement weather.
6. Payment for classes can be made with cheque or Interact email money transfers (lindap@sprucehaven.com).

Clinton Anderson is a horse trainer, clinician and competitor. He has dedicated his life to helping others realize their horsemanship dreams and keeping them inspired to achieve their goals.

Born and raised in Australia, Clinton grew up with a love of horses, and by the age of 15, was apprenticing with the best trainers in the country. In 1997, Clinton moved to the United States where he began training, touring and conducting clinics.

In 2001, he became the first clinician to create a made-for-TV horse training program that aired on RFD-TV. The use of untrained horses and a variety of topics covering common problems faced by horse owners quickly made Downunder Horsemanship the network’s number one equine program. In 2011, Clinton, again, proved he is an industry leader and pioneer by launching his show on Fox Sports Net– a national broadcast station that reaches 80 million viewers.

In addition to being a clinician, Clinton trains and shows his own reining horses. He currently continues to compete and win at the highest levels of competition.

Clinton is the first two-time champion of the Road to the Horse, an event in which the best trainers in the world compete to start an un-touched horse in less than three hours. Winning the event for the first time in 2003, Clinton created a Road to the Horse tradition during his freestyle when he stood up on the back of his colt, cracked a stock whip and lifted his hat to the crowd. The move has become so popular that is has been copied by most other clinicians in the event and is now the iconic Road to the Horse logo.

Today, Clinton continues to teach, train and compete. He’s shared the Method all across the country including at the Alltech World Equestrian Games in 2010, and regularly hosts horsemanship clinics at his facility in Stephenville, Texas. He works hard to educate horse owners on how to be safe and effective while enjoying their horses. His training method is instructional, inspiring and innovative.
