This is a great opportunity to support our public trails. Over the past few years we have continuously been loosing trails for the equine enthusiast. Thank goodness we have people like Mel who has been instrumental in not only creating this beautiful section of the trails but he also, with the help of John McDougall, maintains these trails.

New equipment is needed to keep these trails in the beautiful manicured condition that they always are for us riders, hikers, dog walkers and mountain bikers.

We would love to have you come out and support the fundraiser and yes spend a bit of money to keep the Trans-Canada trails we have in the condition needed for all to use.

Clinic with Muriel Chestnut, classical dressage rider and natural horsemanship trainer from Barrie Ontario. Ride times include a natural horsemanship lesson and a dressage lesson, one hour total per person.

Cost to attend clinic with your horse: $100 per time slot, includes food and drinks from Stellar Mount Stables.

Cost to audit: $45 to watch dressage lessons and natural horsemanship training. Also includes food and drinks.

At 6 pm both days Muriel will have a lecture for anyone who wishes to attend. It is $40 per person. Feel free to eat if your hungry at that time, don’t be shy!

Full payment must be made to book your spot, first come first serve basis. Sorry, no refunds, Muriel is coming from a long way to teach us and we need to make sure we book enough spots for her to be able to travel this far!

Our next educational opportunity gets us prepped for the upcoming dressage season.  We are offering a Dressage Test Ride Clinic, Sunday April 29, 2012 with MH Lessard.  MH is a popular judge at out local London Dressage Association and she is a Level 2 Equine Canada coach.

“Marie-Helen (M.H.) Lessard has been riding in competition,
training horses and instructing riders in clinics and lessons
across Canada for over 20 years.

An EC Level II and a NCCP Level III Theory coach, M.H. has a BA in Physical Education and a Bachelor of Education. She has successfully competed in numerous 3 Day Events during the course of her competitive career and continues to compete in Horse Trials throughout Ontario and Quebec and actively competes in Dressage.

Her exceptional foundation of experience and education also includes: Equine Canada Learning Facilitator, and NCCP-Learning Facilitator for the National Coaching Certification Program. MH is also an Equine Canada Dressage R Judge and an OHTA Director. MH sits on the board of the Ontario Horse Trials Association and the Canadian University Riding Club Association.”

Practice your dressage tests prior to the first Dressage show of the season, obtain feedback from Marie Helen, then reride your test with recommendations for improvements from her.  Both tests will be scored and comments added for feedback.  Ring size available – 20m X 40m or 20m X 60m weather permitting

Choose your test, let us know and we will have copies for Marie Helen to score.  Pre-registration is required, closing date April 25, times available April 27.  More than one test can be ridden if time allows in the day, and will be fit into the schedule, but all individual tests will be ridden first.  Space is limited to 15 rides.

Please join us at Sprucehaven Farm for this incredible opportunity.  We will be riding in a  20 X 40 m and 20 X 60 m ring outside, and warm up will be in the arena – but may change – weather permitting.
